The CW Moves Riverdale and Jane the Virgin and Brings Back Dynasty in the Fall I Will a new Dynasty dawn on The CW this fall? The ABC mega-hit nighttime soap opera from the 1980s will be resurrected by The CW this fall and will air out of relocated Riverdale on Wednesdays. The two series are compatible and, interestingly, Dynasty aired in the same 9:00pm time period on ABC for many years. The CW is also adding new military drama Valor to its Monday evening schedule where it will air at 9:00pm. Two other new series will debut in midseason; the superhero effort Black Lightning and drama Life Sentence , starring Lucy Hale. Among the other changes are a new night and time for Arrow, which will move for the first time since its debut to Thursdays at 9:00pm.  Cancelled series include Frequency and No Tomorrow. It has been a long and enjoyable voyage of discovery and I have found an absolute ton of stuff. What has become very apparent is that after the new rock genre explosions of the 60s to early 70s, they moved with total gusto into the mid-late 70s with a prevailing hard rock / pub rock sound. Compare the number of bands like this to the number of Aussie progressive or psych acts and there is no doubt of it. Maybe the pioneering, farming and blue collar working man ethic of Australia has a lot to do with it, like in Detroit, guys just wanted to get down the pub after work, get drunk and rock out. Another factor is Sharpie Rock, a fashion, attitude and straight-forward punkish sound that arose in the early seventies. A definite influence is of course on...
