The Chocolate Watchband Forty Four 1966 68 us impressive acid garage psych

The Chocolate Watchband Forty Four 1966 68 us impressive acid garage psych In the roll call of 1960s garage band heroes, the Chocolate Watchband reside at the very top. Their notoriety derives from the handful of singles and LPs that they made, balanced between the Watchbands own intense Anglophilic blues wailing, and mysterioso studio trickery on the half of producer Ed Cobb. Their best-known cut is probably Lets Talk About Girls, which appeared on the seminal 1972 garage band sampler Nuggets,, but the Chocolate Watchband have many more such gems within their vintage catalogue, all of which is available to you in fully remastered sound on Big Beat Records. The original Chocolate Watchband was formed in the autumn of 1965 at Foothill College on the San Francisco peninsula, with a six-man line-up that featured guitarist Mark Loomis and drummer Gary Andrijasevich. Playing the R&B and folk rock of the day, the outfit did some recording, but outside of their unusual name, made li...

The British North American Act In The Beginning 1969 canada uk eminent garage acid psych

The British North American Act In The Beginning 1969 canada uk eminent garage acid psych Named for an act of British Parliament that helped establish the Canadian constitution, the British North-American Act were, fittingly enough, comprised of musicians from both Canada and the U.K. (though in the true spirit of internationalism, keyboard man Andy Bator was born in Hungary), and their sole album, originally released in 1969, is a gentle and likable fusion of folk-rock and psychedelia, with a bit of garage rock creeping in around the edges. "Joe Cool" is a swaggering tale of a self-styled ladies man that wouldnt seem at all out of place on a vintage garage rock playlist (especially with Bob Allens primal guitar work), and "If Youre Looking for Honey" covers similar musical ground, but most of the album follows a gentler and trippier path, especially the sunny "Corduroy Coat," the languid and low-key "The World Would Understand," the baroque pop e...

The Day After The Sabbath 113 Acid Nightmare Portugal pt 1

The Day After The Sabbath 113 Acid Nightmare Portugal pt 1 Download from [mf] unzip password:   tdats The first new volume for the new year, and its a country that has had no exposure anywhere on the blog yet, Portugal . After a tricky start I found more than enough tdats-friendly cuts for one volume, so this is part 1, a selection of the heaviest offerings. The forthcoming second part will be a more eclectic set. This is all good stuff, passing through the late 60s groovy beat of Quarteto 1111 , the proto-metal heavies Beatnicks and  Heavy Band , the nasty prog of Tantra , to the heavy metal of Xeque Mate and NZZN . The cover art is an interpretation of Adamastor. Its a mythological character that symbolised the forces of nature that Portuguese sailors had to confront during the countrys time of its explorations. It was famed by the poet Lus de Cames in his classical 1572 work, "Os Lusadas". In a similar way to Francos Spain, the fascist Estado Novo political regim...
