RANDY HOLDEN Population II 1970 Guitar God 1994 PROTO HEAVY HARD ROCK United Kingdom Reino Unido

The Sons Of Adam (especificamente Holden) comeou a experimentar distoro e feedback o os fez ingressar no terreno do Rock Psicodlico. Holden acabou por deixar a banda frustrado com a falta de material original. Holden juntou-se a The Other Half, uma banda de garagem psicodlica de Los Angeles. Eles gravaram um lbum juntos antes de Holden partir novamente. ...

The Day After The Sabbath 79 Dusty Track heavy blues special

The Day After The Sabbath 79 Dusty Track heavy blues special Download from : [mf] or [mg] password:  tdats Dose o blues number two....which now makes for three so far; Vol54, Vol79 and Vol108. A few screaming, agonising blues crucifixions mixed in with the usual unstoppable fuzz, coming at you like the train that just keepsa rolling....... Arthur Lee Arthur Lee was the guitarist with LAs psych band Love, he also made a few solo albums along the way before his unfortunate death from leukaemia in 2006. Our intro track is from the time of his first, 1972s Vindicator, and is included on the bonus-tracks version. Its such a great riff in this track and its almost like doom rock, and we all know that blues and doom are pretty much the same thing....Fun Fact: " Lees [pre-Love] composition, My Diary was his first to do well. It was written for R&B singer Rosa Brooks who performed and recorded it. The song included ...

The Day After The Sabbath 70 School Daze heavy 45s pt 1

The Day After The Sabbath 70 School Daze heavy 45s pt 1 Download from: [mf] or [mg] pass:  tdats After the ethereal diversions of vol69, we jump straight back into the heaviness with a collection of rough and raw singles from the heavy psych glory period around 1966-72. Message, Maternal Joy and Blackbird 2000 are all german bands from the Krautrock era, Maternal Joy was to change its name soon after, releasing a string of great albums as "Nine Days Wonder". The Lions Of Juda were an Israeli band, the only other I know being The Churchills (aka Jericho). Attack play some amazing heavy garage punk a la MC5 or The Up, and Stumpwater is a canadian curio, apparently only releasing one song as a split single with an excitingly-named duo called Ronnie and Natalie. Avalanche, with Normans great hammond playing, was an alternative name for The Norman Haines Band which I used once before on Vol40, and "Crowd + 1" features Dean Parks on guitar. He is a famous se...

The Day After The Sabbath 133 A Lot Of Bottle heavy slide guitar special

The Day After The Sabbath 133 A Lot Of Bottle heavy slide guitar special Download from [mf] or [yd] password:   tdats Welcome to another instalment of heavy nugget searches. This one is dedicated to the wonderful sound of guitar played with a slide, and the expressive, snarling, powerful sound that humble slide guitar can make, especially when driven through a hard-rock guitarists amp! As usual, the tracks here are not just slide guitar, but hard rock / blues rock with slide, with Highway Robbery being one of the heaviest. Im happy to say this volume also brings nine new bands to the blog, with a few like Possessed and Sam Apple Pie that some may have considered conspicuous by their absence so far. Although a technique traditionally of the afro-american blues heroes, the majority of acts here are from all kinds of places including the UK, Hungary & Australia, showing the draw that blues rock has all over the world, and still does! TRACKS 01. Nobodys Business - Bleed Me Dry (1...

Raw Material Time is 1971 uk great heavy prog rock

Raw Material Time is 1971 uk great heavy prog rock A progressive rock band whose original albums are now very rare and sought-after. Mike Fletcher had earlier been in Steam and Cliff Harewood later came on board from Welcome, but neither of these bands had made it onto vinyl. Some members were later in Shoot; Dave Green had been a member of Deep Feeling. "Time Is" with good progressive pieces based on heavy guitar and sax as well as the latter accompanied by keyboard chords. "Ice Queen" includes frozen wind sounds and a slightly discordant flute solo. The most sophisticated composition is "Empty Houses", which has some inspired melodies and strong vocals. "Insolent Lady" has a slow, mellow beginning with acoustic guitar and flute.  This gives way to a piano break which, in turn, evolves into progressive rock with guitar and sax, although this becomes a bit repetitious near the end. "Miracle Worker" is mainly based on Dave Brubecks ...
