The Climax Blues Band Plays On 1969 uk outstanding blues rock with experimental mood 2013 remaster and expanded Britains Climax Blues Band didnt waste any time following up their self-titled debut in 1969 (dropping the moniker The Climax Chicago Blues Band), as they once again entered EMIs Abbey Road studios and put together Plays On, a highly adventurous and varied affair that saw plenty of new elements starting to creep into their once straight Chicago styled blues sound. The City Blues Blues For Lawrence Street 1967 us terrific rough garage rock n blues Vinyl edition The original City Blues Band was formed in Fullerton, Calif. in 1966. It made an LP, financed by David R. Hall, a local DJ, in 1967 that sold in in record shops in LA and Orange Counties of So. Calif. About five copies even made it to Victoria around this time. Today it is a sought after collectors item, mostly in Europe. The band then went through several personel changes, mostly guitarists. In its final So. Calif. inception, Bob Lesher was the only original member left. He moved to Victoria in April, 1969, soon to be followed by Mike Balfe (drummer) and Bill Burdick (bassist).  For its Victoria version the band featured Tim Zurowski and Phil Rossner, Victoria guitarists and borrowed Paul Iverson, on bass, from Frendlyn Page prior to Burdick arriving in town. Being the root of what we know as rock music, I figured it was quite an important subject to tackle. This volume has a great age range, featuring one of the oldest tracks I have used so far (1965). We kick off with a short and brooding instrumental from Booker T. & The MGs. Jones was a child prodigy, playing the oboe, saxophone, trombone, and piano at school and serving as church organist.
