As it turns out, all from the classic years 1969 to 1975 and all US or UK artists. We kick off with Texass doomy Seompi whos collected tapes were retrospectively released in 1999 by the Gear Fab label, and then on vinyl by Akarma. Missouris Joe Pritchard pressed only 300 copies of his album in 1974, which has since been re-issued by Radioactive. Its a real curio this one, each track has its own individual flavour and sound, from 12-bar blues to folk to Jazz and then up-beat rockers like "Reason To Be". Archibald was Scottish artist Archie Legget, he recorded in France where he made two great glam-stomping singles. The E Types Introducing The E Types 1965 66 us splendid garage beat In the mid-60s, this group from Salinas, CA, (near San Jose) played a pleasant blend of British Invasion-inspired pop/rock and a touch of garage. With prominent keyboards, three-part harmonies, and original material with minor-keyed shifts, they sounded something like a mix between the Zombies and the Turtles. Very popular within their (pretty limited) stomping grounds, they made no impact whatsoever on a national level, issuing four singles on small labels (most of them with producer Ed Cobb, who also handled the Standells and the Chocolate Watch Band). Certainly they were a promising outfit, capable of offering strong original material (most of which, oddly, was penned by a friend who wasnt in the band, Larry Hosford).
